Update Symfony safely

A small url very useful to achieve an upgrade Symfony without risking breaking the current configuration. I'm going to migrate from a 1.0.16 to 1.2.

it interests me that, but you're not afraid to have regressed between the new forms, the conf has changed the structure so I think so ...?

I did not do this upgrade but normally with symbolic links and good backups.
And I will not have the opportunity right away. I questioned particularly with regard to internationalization and I do not know yet if I use the tools symfony to do or if I go back to zero for each of the subdomains to internationalize. Everyone with common but also some differences.
